Have you tried traditional therapy and felt something was missing?
From my own experience as a patient & practitioner, I know that for many people traditional therapy has little effect on lasting change.
What I have come to realise over the past decade is that what we traditionally know as “mental illness” is NOT a disease that we carry as a label for a lifetime. It’s a symptom with a clear message to provide mind and body with homeostasis.
Unfortunately, most of the western health care system focuses on treating the symptoms, without looking beyond the broken pieces. Believe me when I say, I know what I am talking about! But healing is so much more than “treating the hole(s) in the person”. It’s about supporting the person as a whole being, bringing mind, body and soul back into homeostasis.
A holistic model allows us to go deeper, beyond management of the symptoms and fixing the broken pieces. It allows us to balance the body, heal the mind, and listen to our own internal guidance.
Holistic Psychology is an approach which helps me and many others to heal on all levels by taking the entire human being and our life experiences into consideration.

The need for a holistic approach
As a Psychologist, Nutritionist, and certified Yoga Teacher, I know that there is no disconnect between the mind and body. To heal, grow, and transform we have to purposely work for the two to align. The mind needs proper nutrition in form of compassion, mindfulness, and examination of thoughts. The body needs physical work in whatever form you like best (gentle yoga, deep belly breathing, laughing, walking outside in nature are some of my favourites). 🧘♀️
Choices need to be made to nurture both over an extended period of time (no “quick-fix-done-healed” here).
I don’t consider anyone as damaged and in need of repair; instead I want to focus on supporting others release the spiritual perfection which already lies WITHIN.
The most important thing I’ve learned is that there is nothing wrong with you. You are already whole, perfect and complete. There are just some little cracks stopping the flow in your life. Those “cracks” are beliefs and behaviours that might have been true at some time in your life, but are no longer true and are not working for you.
Most of us were conditioned to believe in how limited we are! The truth is that love is what we were born with. Fear is what we have learned.
Transformation goes beyond the knowing
This is a time in history where it’s not just enough to know. This is a time in history where we need to know HOW.
As a Psychologist, I was trained to be pretty logical and scientific in my approach. But what I’ve learned on my own healing journey is that there are things that cannot be explained by any science.
Within my work of teaching holistic psychology, yoga, breath work and meditation, the focus is on the connection between body, mind and spirit. What I have experienced and witnessed is that the real change and healing happens when we let our breath fuel our movement and connect to our deeper (or higher) self. True transformation begins when we tune in to the magic that is already within us, rather than trying to perfect the imperfection.
Within my work as a holistic Psychologist, which mostly revolves around the metaphysical, the conscious & unconscious mind, it’s also easy to draw scientific conclusions which I love doing. The deeper I dive into the science behind phenomena that have been taught for thousands of years, the deeper I go within my heart, and can support others connect deeper to their true inner being.
And that, to me, is the beauty of it all. Bridging the gap between the material & ethereal world, bringing science & spirituality together & forming a symphony of a holistic perspective – which, if not only known on the level of the mind, but also embodied by the body, can result in the most magical life we can imagine.
This – for me – is true transformation!
When we work on all dimensions – body, mind, soul – that’s where miracles are born.
Remember your true essence is perfect and unconditioned consciousness, and your journey is un-learning what the world has taught you to become.
Our society is (silently) screaming for true transformation
We are a nation of people who weren’t properly nurtured with the most fundamental needs of human beings. So it makes sense that we’d become a culture obsessed with being important, with winning, competing, achieving.
Deep down, there are still voices that drive our behaviour and say “you aren’t enough as you are”, “don’t slow down, you’ll be forgotten”, “you need to work hard to deserve love!”
But no matter how much we strive, compete, achieve or win, we will never find the feeling we are looking for in the material world, because what we are craving whether we realize it or not, is confirmation that we are whole.
And that confirmation cannot come from a relationship status, millions of dollars, and followers, or any other status symbol we might achieve.
Returning to our innate wholeness often comes through deep soul searching, and sometimes, a shattering of our perceived reality.
It is in the moments when we feel broken, chewed up and spit out by life that we awaken and realize that all of our grasping and chasing is simply a distraction from the work we have to do inside.
This is who you truly are
The truth is that without it all, you are a perfectly lovable being. Your true nature is peaceful, easeful, balanced, whole, and complete. You don’t need to put your broken pieces back together, you are already whole. Your purpose doesn’t depend on what you do, but on who you are – in this very moment.
Life is full of distractions, and it’s not a bad thing to enjoy the material world or even work hard and accomplish great things – but when we wrap our whole identity and worth up in what we do, rather than who we are, we forget what we are really here for.
.. learn how to love more authentically.
.. act with more compassion.
.. listen with greater understanding.
.. see the innocence in ourselves and in others.
To remember that love isn’t something we must fight for, it is something we return to. It is all that we are. It’s time to stop waiting for someone else to show you love and instead show up for yourself. It’s time to start owning your life, your health, your wealth and happiness.

Transformation happens through the body
The classic symbol of transformation is that of a caterpillar turning into a moth or butterfly. The process is often painted as neat and tidy..
This is far from the truth. It actually takes a lot of work to forcibly break out of the comforting shell that’s been protecting us. We need to break free from the confines that saved us as we were in the process of becoming. And for this, we need tools to help us withstand the intensity of being broken down into our most essential parts before we are rebuilt and emerge into the stunning and free creatures we are meant to be.
Transformation is not just about learning.
It’s also about unlearning all the lies the world told you about who you are and moving the energy through your system.
According to the teachings of yoga, suffering occurs when we feel separated from our true being. Daily life brings us experiences and conditioning that accumulate in our system over the years, and move us further and further away from the truth of our being. The practice of yoga is intended to restore us to the peace, ease, and balance of our true nature. In yoga, transformation is the process of coming back home to the truth of our being.
